No. A mediator helps the parties explore the issues and work toward their own agreed resolution. Mediation is different from a trial or arbitration, where a decision is imposed.
Discuss the required information and preparation directly with Scott and your counsel, if you have one. Consider the issues you need to resolve and the outcomes you would be willing to explore.
ADR North’s published 2026 fees are $2,800 for a half day and $4,950 for a full day, excluding HST and disbursements. Additional time is $400 per hour or part thereof. The complete terms are set out in the Agreement to Mediate.
With at least 15 business days’ notice there is no cancellation fee. Within that period, ADR North lists fees of $1,400 for half-day bookings and $2,750 for full-day bookings, split equally between parties unless otherwise agreed.
Mandatory mediation requirements depend on the court, location and type of proceeding. Ontario’s civil justice rules are evolving. Ask your counsel about the current requirements that apply to your matter; do not rely on a general website summary.
